Michelle Smith is a native of Grand Rapids, MI. Since she was a child she has had the eye and the passion for photography. People called her a “shutterbug” from middle school on as she was known to have a camera handy. She has an artistic soul and has passion in everything she does. From dancing, music lessons, and theater, Michelle has dabbled and maintained that reflection of art in her life. Then one day, while sitting in the kitchen and telling her father of her desire he left the table, went to the basement, came back and handed her his Pentax SLR camera. From that moment, her passion became a flame and she hasn’t looked back. Though the years passed, that spark never left her. It took her a while to realize her dream, now she is turning that dream, and affinity for photography into a business. She went with True Light Images for its name, almost explaining her ability to see and feel the light within the subject of her art. Michelle is also a paraprofessional for the Grand Rapids school system. As teaching is her second passion, being a teachers assistant continues her life of art and the genuine nature of who she is.
