Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes of a photo shoot or what it takes to get that final image just right? If so, I invite you to get to know some of the key players for this shoot (and hopefully many more in the future)!

My name is Aimie Vredevoogd. I am a freelance makeup artist in Grand Rapids, MI. I’ve always had a “passion for fashion” and with that comes a passion for makeup/fashion/editorials/color/seasons. I went to school for fashion design, but decided to get into makeup artistry as a profession several years ago. I love it and look forward to many more amazing opportunities to be “Behind the Scenes”.

Each shoot is different. Inspiration comes from anywhere, but there is always someone who takes the lead in this area. It could be a designer, company, photographer, model, hairstylist or makeup artist who comes up with a concept and then finds the team that will make it happen. All of them bringing a part of themselves and their unique creativity into the final image(s).

For this shoot, the inspiration came from our amazingly talented model, Abigail Brown. This model has the incredible “it” factor, professionalism and ambition (let’s not forget the obvious….) – so look out for her to be in some major editorials soon! I asked a few questions to see what her concept was and what her future plans are:

What was your concept for the shoot and how did you come up with it?
Abigail:
I came up with the concept for the shoot from the UGG Collection Fall 2011 campaign.

What was the purpose and goal for the shoot?
Abigail:
The goal of the shoot was to get some pictures that I can put in my portfolio. (She already has some amazing images in her portfolio, you can check them out here. She also mentioned she was looking to get some additional high fashion looks to showcase for Ford Models.)

What helps you get “in the mood” or ready for a shoot?
Abigail: The thing that helps me get “in the mood” to shoot most is looking through fashion magazines. I always keep three or four with me!

What are your future goals?
Abigail: I will be in NYC in January and am praying that I get signed out there. After that, Asia and then Europe!

THE TEAM: The team for the shoot consisted of myself, Aimie Vredevoogd (Makeup Artist), Jennifer Unger (Hair Stylist) and Bill Strome (Photographer).

We hope you enjoy the results!
